June 22, 2016 - Texas League (TL1) - Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will return to Dr Pepper Ballpark Thursday to begin a four-game homestand against the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros), featuring two post-game fireworks shows, Salute to Top Gun Night, a Joey Gallo "BIG STICK" Bobblehead giveaway, and a Thursday Night Pool Party.

The homestand begins Thursday with the second-ever Thursday Night Pool Party. By purchasing a Thursday Night Pool Party ticket for just $39, fans can float the Choctaw Lazy River, while enjoying live pre-game music and complimentary hot dogs, brats, chips, and Dr Pepper products.

It is also a Thirsty Thursday, featuring $1 domestic draft beers, $2 craft and import beers, $2 Palm Breeze, and $1 Dr Pepper products from 6-8 p.m. Michael Gruber, a.k.a. "Grubes", will preside over "Groovy Grubesday", serving as the house DJ and "Ambassador of Fun" for the night.

During Friday's Salute to Top Gun Night, the RoughRiders will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the classic film. The team will don flight-suit-inspired uniforms, and the players will be introduced by their flight call signs as they come up to the plate. The flight-suit jerseys will be auctioned off to fans above section 114 through the fifth inning, with proceeds benefitting Hope's Door. John Weidman, a graduate of Topgun who flew three operational cruises as a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) from VF-84, the Jolly Rogers, will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch. Fans can also participate in a "Lost that Loving Feeling" karaoke contest and "Top Gun" trivia contests.

Friday and Saturday feature a pair of spectacular giveaways for fans that arrive early. The first 1,000 fans at Friday night's game will receive a pair of Riders aviator sunglasses, and the first 2,000 fans to enter Dr Pepper Ballpark on Saturday will take home a Joey Gallo "BIG STICK" Bobblehead.

Following Saturday night's game, the RoughRiders will host a Saturday Post-Game Party in the Bull Moose Saloon. Half-price drinks will be available beginning in the ninth inning, and Brad Stinson will be performing live.
