Riders Homestand Opens Tuesday, Features Strikeout Cancer Weekend

The RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, face the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Kansas City Royals) and Arkansas Travelers (Seattle Mariners) in consecutive three-game series. The NW Arkansas series runs Tuesday-Thursday (May 30-June 1) and Arkansas comes to town Friday-Sunday (June 2-4).

First pitch each night for all six games is 7:05 p.m.

Tuesday's homestand opener is also Taco Tuesday with $2 tacos available all game, along with select $3 beers and half-price margaritas (6-8 p.m.). Up next is Weiner Wednesday presented by Texas Chili Company with $1 hot dogs for the entire game.

Thirsty Thursday closes the NW Arkansas series with fans enjoying $1 domestic draft beers, $2 craft and import beers, $3 Stella Rosa wine and $1 Dr Pepper products from 6-8 p.m. The Choctaw Lazy River Pool Party is also Thursday at the newly-heated Choctaw Lazy River. For just $39 fans can float the river and enjoy an all-you-can-eat menu featuring hot dogs, brats, peanuts, chips and Dr Pepper products.

The specially-themed jerseys the Riders are wearing for Strikeout Cancer Weekend (Friday-Sunday) will be auctioned off by the RoughRiders Foundation to benefit Rumble Against Cancer (Saturday) and Team Holly Foundation (Sunday). The first 2,000 fans through the Dr Pepper Ballpark gates for all three games receive a Riders Strikeout Cancer Wristband.

Friday also includes Post-Game Fireworks presented by Cinemark with fans invited onto the field to enjoy the show. On Saturday, the ZOOperstars bring their unique baseball-themed inflatable animal characters to perform throughout the game and the Post-Game Party features up-tempo country rocker Rachel Stacy.

The homestand finale is also the first in a summer-long series of Sunday Post-Game Fireworks presented by Krave Jerky. The Choctaw Lazy River Pool Party returns and for just $39 fans can float the river and enjoy an all-you-can-eat menu. It's also Kids Sunday Funday, with kids and their parents/guardians welcome to play catch on the field up to 35 minutes prior to first pitch and enjoy $1 ice cream sandwiches the entire game.

Also Sunday, the RoughRiders are hosting the fifth annual Round the Bases Brew Tasting presented by MillerCoors, featuring complimentary samples of Leinenkugel's, Blue Moon, Redd's Apple Ale and Crispin Hard Cider, and Henry's Hard Sodas. After sampling all the brands, fans can take home a free pint glass.

Gates for all home games open an hour before first pitch (90 minutes early for Founders Members).
