Ride the Party Town Shuttle

Waterloo, Iowa - Many Waterloo Black Hawks fans rolled up to Young Arena in style last season, and the Party Town Shuttle will continue to bring them to the rink from remote parking areas during 2018/19.

The joint effort between the City of Waterloo, Young Arena, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, and the team saves fans a walk of several blocks. The complimentary service is available and runs continuously from 6 to 10 p.m. on most nights, or one hour prior to puck drop for four hours on dates when the start time varies from the typical 7:05 p.m. opening faceoff.

There is no fee for fans who choose to take advantage of the service. The accessible bus includes a ramp for passengers using a wheelchair or other mobility devices, along with specific locations for securement, and other features to ease travel for passengers with disabilities.

"The feedback from fans for this service was very positive, and we consider the Party Town Shuttle to be one of the notable fan experience improvements from last season," said Waterloo Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. "Some fans - particularly with limited mobility - spoke well of the service provided, so we are very grateful to the MET drivers, the City of Waterloo, and all of our partners for help making it easier for folks to get to the rink."

This year, the shuttle route will vary slightly and will remain subject to change until downtown road construction projects are completed. However, the pickup and drop off locations will be the Courtyard by Marriott (250 Westfield Avenue) and the Young Arena main entrance. Fans can track the real time location of the bus at https://transit.unitegps.com/mt.

The Black Hawks encourage all attendees to use caution while driving to attend games at Young Arena this season as road construction enters its final stages. At this time, Mullan Avenue continues to be a two-way route. Jefferson and 1st Streets remain closed at select intersections near the rink. If possible, fans are encouraged to plan extra time for their commute.
