TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Altoona Curve will meet in game three of a four-game series...The Curve snapped the Flying Squirrels' seven-game winning streak as Altoona rolled to a 9-1 in game two of the series on Tuesday night at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTER: Right-hander Mike MacDonald gets the start in game three of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Earned his first win of the season against Bowie on 4/30...Tossed seven scoreless innings while giving up just two hits...Struck out eight and walked one...One of the two hits allowed was an infield single...Had only four batters reach base (two singles, one walk, one hit-by-pitch)...Retired the leadoff man in six of his seven innings on the mound...Retired the first nine batters in order including striking out the side in the top of the third inning...Recorded eight ground outs, eight strike outs and four fly outs...Eight strike outs matched a career high and were the most for a Richmond pitcher this season...Seven-inning scoreless streak is currently the longest active streak on the club...Has received just seven runs of support in his five starts (1.4R/GS)...Is 0-for-5 with three strike outs and a walk at the plate this season.

Right-hander Ross Ohlendorf gets the nod in game three of the series for the Curve...Placed on the Disabled List retroactive to April 12th with back spasms...Appeared in an Extended Spring Training game on Friday, throwing 43 pitches...First game action since April 7th...Made lone start of the season against the Los Angeles Dodgers, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits in five innings...Struck out one and walked three...Did not factor into the decision...Spent all of 2009 with Pittsburgh going 11-10 with a 3.92 ERA in 29 starts...Struck out 109 batters and walked 53 in 176 2/3 innings...Acquired from the New York Yankees along with pitchers Daniel McCutchen and Jef Karstens and outfielder Jose Tabata in exchange for outfielder Xavier Nady and pitcher Damaso Marte in July 26, 2008...Made five starts with the Pirates following the trade...Went 0-3 with a 6.35 ERA...Began season in the Yankees bullpen appearing in 25 games and going 1-1 with a 6.53 ERA...Made his Major League debut in 2007 appearing in six games with New York...Went 0-0 with a 2.84 ERA...Acquired by the Yankees from the Arizona Diamondbacks along with pitchers Luis Vizcaino and Steven Jackson and infielder Alberto Gonzalez for pitcher Randy Johnson and future considerations...Originally selected by Arizona in the fourth round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Princeton University...Is expected to throw 70 pitches or five innings.

BIG LEAGUE: Ross Ohlendorf will be the third Major League pitcher on rehab assignment faced by the Flying Squirrels this season...Richmond previously faced Philadelphia right-handers Joe Blanton and Brad Lidge on April 23rd...Blanton worked three scoreless innings allowing four hits while striking out three and walking one...Lidge tossed one scoreless inning, giving up one hit while walking one and striking out none.

NO-NO, NOT AGAIN: Altoona left-hander tossed six hitless innings against Richmond last night, issuing just one walk...It was the second time this season that a starter has held the Flying Squirrels hitless...Reading right-hander Phillippe Aumont tossed six hitless innings against Richmond on April 25th, having just two batters reach base on walks...The R-Phils lost the no-hitter with two outs in the top of the seventh inning...Last night, the Squirrels broke up the no-hit bid with one out in the bottom of the seventh.

SWING AND A MISS: The Flying Squirrels have struck out 25 times in the first two games of the series with the Curve...Richmond struck out a season-high 13 times on Monday night...Altoona left-hander Rudy Owens struck out 11 batters himself in six innings of work last night...Overall, the Flying Squirrels have struck out 174 times in 25 games...The club has struck out 57 times in five games against Altoona (11.4K/G)...Richmond has struck out an average of 7.8 times in its 15 other games.

CLAY-MATION: Outfielder Clay Timpner has hits in each of his last six contests, his second hit streak of at least five games...He has also driven in at least one run in each of his last six games...Currently on the homestand, the 26-year-old is 10-for-16 (.625) with four doubles, eight RBI, and two runs scored...Timpner is batting .474 (9-for-19) with runners in scoring position.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 29 double plays in their first 24 games...The club is tied with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats for the Eastern League lead in double plays turned.

DEFENDING THE DIAMOND: The Flying Squirrels have committed just 11 errors in their first 25 games...Richmond has committed the fewest errors in the Eastern League and currently leads the league with a .988 fielding percentage.

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The nine runs allowed by the Flying Squirrels last night were a season high...The most runs previously allowed by Richmond was six on Opening Day at Bowie...Even with the nine runs allowed last night, the Flying Squirrels still lead the Eastern League with a 2.58 ERA and have allowed a league-low 70 runs...Altoona has allowed the second-fewest runs in the league, 84.

DIRTY SQUIRREL OF THE NIGHT: Infielder Conor Gillaspie was named the Puritan Cleaners Dirty Squirrel of the Game after making several diving attempts in last night's contest against Altoona.
