Week 7 Recap:

Rockford picked up wins in all three of their contests in Week 7 to move back into a tie for second place in the Midwest Division. Rockford improved their record to a game over the .500 mark at 9-8-0-1 and the team sits just three points behind the Chicago Wolves for the top spot in the division. The Hogs look to ride the momentum into Week 8 as the club has four games on the slate, including three away from Rockford.

Bacon Bits:

-After appearing in just three games over Rockford's first 15 contests in 2012-13, goalie Alec Richards played in all three games in Week 7 and picked up three wins

-Entering play on Saturday, Rockford had allowed the sixth fewest shots per game at 27.24 shots per contest

-In the second period on Saturday, Lake Erie accumulated 24 shots on goal against Rockford, an IceHogs single-period record

-Rookie defenseman Adam Clendening racked up 2g-4a-6pts over a three-game stretch from 11/18-11/23 with three-straight multi-point games

-Since losing four of five games from 11/2-11/14, Rockford has won four of five tilts from 11/16-11/24

-Center Martin St. Pierre appeared in his 600th career professional game on Friday

-Entering Week 7, Rockford had carried a lead into the third period just one time in 15 games

-Over three games in Week 7, the IceHogs had leads entering the third frame in all three contests

-After getting swept in their four-game head-to-head series with Lake Erie in 2011-12, Rockford is 3-0-0-0 against the Monsters in 2012-13

-Andrew Shaw has 2g-1a in his two games since returning from a six-game suspension

-Over his last six games, winger Ben Smith has 3g-4a-7pts

-Week 8 features four games for Rockford, the first of two four-game weeks of 2012-13 with the other coming during Week 26

-For the second time this season, defenseman Joe Lavin has marked assists in three-straight games

Hot Hog: Week 7

Goalie Alec Richards

After starting just two games through Rockford's first 15 contests, goalie Alec Richards picked up three wins in as many outings in Week 7. Richards began the week with a 16 save effort in relief, helping lead the IceHogs over Peoria 5-4, allowing just one goal. On Friday, Richard turned away 30 of 32 Lake Erie shots faced to earn his third win of the season. He then followed that up with an impressive 36 save effort in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Monsters on Saturday. In the shootout, the Robbinsdale, Minn. native stopped four of six Lake Erie attempts to hand the Monster their first shootout loss of the season in five shootouts.

Upcoming Games:

Tuesday, Nov. 27 vs. Texas Stars: The puck hits the ice at 7:05 p.m. as the IceHogs welcome the Texas Stars to the BMO Harris Bank Center for the first time in 2012-13. The Illinois Lottery Cup game is another WXRX Dollar Day as fans can get $1 beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets. One lucky fan will also shoot for a chance to win a brand new car in the Toyota Showcase Shootout during the second intermission.

Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Chicago Wolves: Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. between the IceHogs and their Midwest Division rival Chicago Wolves. The game is the fourth of 12 meetings between the two teams on the campaign.

Saturday, Dec. 1 at Charlotte: The IceHogs travel to Charlotte to take on the Checkers at 6 p.m. in the first of back-to-back games between the two squads. The Hogs are 1-1-0-0 against the Checkers in 2012-13.

Sunday, Dec. 2 at Charlotte: A matinee rematch set for 2 p.m. The game is the final meeting between Rockford and Charlotte during the 2012-13 regular season.
