The 34-year-old hurler was signed by the Dodgers as a free agent on January 9, 2013. He spent the majority of the 2012 season at Triple-A Tucson, but also had a stint with the San Diego Padres. With San Diego, Palmer had no record with a 9.00 ERA (2ER/2IP) in three appearances. He posted a 6-9 record with a 5.66 ERA over 98.2 innings (21 appearance, 20 starts) at Triple-A. The 6-foot-2 righty was originally drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 31st round of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft.

Palmer has spent parts of five seasons in the Majors with three different teams (San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and San Diego Padres) over his 11-year career. He made his ML debut in August, 2008 at the age of 29 with San Francisco. The Tennessee native compiled one double-digit win season in his Major League career coming in 2009 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He went 11-2 in 40 games (13 starts) with a 3.93 ERA (53 ER/ 121.1 IP) that year.

Wallach hit .273 (6-for-22) with a double, three walks, three RBI and two runs scored in seven games with the Isotopes this season and threw out three of six potential base stealers. The California native was drafted by the Dodgers in the 22nd round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. It is his eighth season in the Dodgers organization. In his fourth stint with Chattanooga earlier this season, Wallach was 0-for-7 with a walk in two games.

The Topes take on the Round Rock Express in the finale of a four-game set today at noon. Palmer toes the rubber against LHP Brad Mills (3-0, 1.42) at Dell Diamond. Listen to all of the action as Josh Suchon has the call on 610AM. Albuquerque returns home tomorrow, April 29, to open an eight-game set at Isotopes Park starting with 50 cent Hot Dog Night for tomorrow's 6:35 p.m. game against the Memphis Redbirds.
