Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced today that right-hander Josh Lindblom has been optioned back to Triple-A Round Rock and relievers Wilmer Font and Joseph Ortiz have been recalled to Texas.

Lindblom posted a 1-3 record and 5.46 ERA with the Rangers this season, falling in his last start with the club in Baltimore 6-1 on July 10. In 11 appearances (10 starts) with Round Rock, Lindblom has a 7-0 record and 1.99 ERA with wins in each of his last three starts. He has not pitched for the Express since holding New Orleans to one run over 6.0 innings on June 27.

The Rangers have also recalled southpaw Joseph Ortiz and right-hander Wilmer Font from the Express. Ortiz began the season with the Rangers but has also appeared in nine games for Round Rock, most recently on July 7. The left-hander has compiled a 1-1 record and 3.68 ERA out of the E-Train bullpen, while also registering a save in his last appearance.

Font recently joined the Express, making just four appearances with the club before his recall to the major leagues. Over those four outings, he has collected a win and save without allowing an earned run. He has allowed 3-of-5 inherited runners to score, but nailed down the save with a perfect ninth inning on July 9 against Oklahoma City.

With these moves, the Express roster sits at 23 active players with one major league rehab.
