DUBUQUE, Iowa - Philip Rhodes has been appointed the Dubuque Fighting Saints' assistant director of hockey operations, continuing his internship with the organization. In his new role, he remains responsible for the tracking and integration of analytics for the coaching staff, while assisting director of hockey operations Matt Millar. The integration of analytics into team operations helps measure player performance and statistical trends.

"I'm extremely excited about my expanded role in Dubuque and I look forward to helping the team this upcoming season," said Rhodes. "I want to thank all of last year's staff for helping me grow professionally and for preparing me for this role."

"Philip has been an asset to our organization because of his work ethic, his commitment to improving our team via statistical analysis, and his ability to collect, decipher, and communicate data to both our staff and our players," said head coach/GM Jason Lammers.

Rhodes has previous hockey experience with SC Riessersee of the DEL2 in Garmisch, Germany, where he worked in the front office. As a student at Loras College, he is a sport management major, and he has competed on the school's case study team at the SABR Analytics Conference.

Rhodes' passion for sports and statistical analysis began at a young age as he tracked the statistics of his favorite baseball stars. He quickly transferred that passion to other sports as well.
