York Revolution News Release

Delwyn Young's pinch-hit double broke a tie score in the top of the ninth inning, giving the Camden Riversharks a 3-2 win over the York Revolution on Tuesday evening in front of 3,767 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium. Having split the first two games of their series, the two clubs will meet again on Camp Day at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

York quickly scored the game's first run as Kody Kirkland led off the bottom of the first with a triple to right-center, and Ruddy Yan followed with a sacrifice fly to left on the next pitch. The Revs were denied at least one more, however, as center fielder Billy Rice made a great running grab on Chad Tracy's drive to deep center, ending the inning.

Revs starter Brett Tomko maintained the lead early on, as he struck out three consecutive batters after allowing a first pitch triple to Raul Padron in the top of the second, stranding that runner. The Riversharks did get on the board in the top of the fourth, however, as Valentino Pascucci struck a solo homer to left-center, tying the score at 1-1 on the 300th home run of his career.

The Riversharks took a 2-1 lead on an RBI single by Padron in the top of the sixth, but Tomko prevented further damage, leaving the bases loaded.

The Revs answered right back with a run in their half of the sixth, as Yan singled with one out, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, and later scored on a sac fly by Tracy, tying the game at 2-2. The Revs also missed out on a big inning, however, as Mark Teahen's single loaded the bases with two outs, but Andy Marte was thrown out trying to dive back to second base for the final out of the inning.

Camden set the stage for the tiebreaking run in the ninth when Dionys Cesar led off the inning with a single up the middle against reliever Julio DePaula (0-1). Juan Martinez followed with a sacrifice bunt, and with two outs, Young lined the only pitch he saw all night to the gap in left-center for the game-winning pinch-hit double.

Notes: Tomko took a no-decision, despite a fifth consecutive quality start and seventh in his last eight outings. He tied a season-high by logging seven innings for the fifth consecutive outing and ninth time overall this season. York's Pedro Liriano (4-3, 4.15) will square off against righty Jake Hale (1-2, 5.15) in Wednesday's tilt. Tickets are available at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
