Revs continue daily local preseason training, including three double sessions this week

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will continue preseason preparations for the upcoming 2009 season with daily indoor training this week, including double sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The club will conduct Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday's sessions at ForeKicks in Norfolk, Mass., before shifting operations to the Dana-Farber Field House on the grounds of Gillette Stadium for the Thursday and Friday sessions.

NEWS & NOTES

REVS RAMP UP TRAINING, BEGIN DOUBLE SESSIONS

While the first week of preseason training consisted of daily 10 a.m. fitness and conditioning sessions, the Revolution will conduct double sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week, the second of training ... while the focus of the morning sessions will likely continue to be fitness, the afternoon sessions are expected to provide the players a chance to display their skills will ball work and small-sided games ... the schedule - consisting of double sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday - will remain the same for the third week of training before the club departs for Austin, Texas on Monday, Feb. 23.

MANSALLY, NYASSI CALLED UP TO GAMBIA NATIONAL TEAM

Revolution teammates Kenny Mansally and Sainey Nyassi have been called up to the Gambia National Team for a friendly match against Gabon on Wednesday, Feb. 11 ... the pair of 20-year-olds departed on Saturday for Paris, France, where the match between the two African countries will take place ... Mansally has made three previous appearances for the senior national team, while Nyassi will be looking to earn his first cap for "the Scorpions" ... both Mansally and Nyassi played prominent roles on Gambia's Under-20 National Team in recent years, including at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN AS DUBE RETURNS

Second-year forward Kheli Dube returned from Zimbabwe to join the Revolution for training on Thursday morning, Feb. 5, becoming the final player to report for the 2009 preseason ... the 2008 MLS Gatorade Rookie of the Year finalist had remained in his home country to tend to personal matters as camp opened ... with Dube in camp, all 27 players on New England's preseason roster have reported for training.

REVOLUTION LAUNCHES $200 SUPPORTER'S SEASON TICKET

The Revolution has announced a new initiative to offer its most ardent and vocal supporters a special $200 season ticket ... the Supporter's Season Ticket, which will include standing-room seats in "The Fort," gives the club's hard-core supporters the chance to attend the entire 20-game home schedule (regular-season and special event games) and be located with like-minded fans in one area of the stadium - the north end of Gillette Stadium, under the lighthouse ... the $200 Supporter's Season Ticket is part of a larger initiative to engage the team's adult fan base, as the club has also launched its "Defend the Fort" campaign, which will kick off on the team's official web site, revolutionsoccer.net, and will soon include a Revolution social network for members and non-members alike, as well as downtown supporters' events at popular social establishments.

REVS ANNOUNCE 2009 PRESEASON ROSTER

The Revolution announced its 2009 preseason roster in late January ... a total of 27 players are included on the roster, with 19 of those players returning to New England after spending at least a portion of the 2008 season with the Revs ... of the eight new players in camp, five were selected by the Revolution in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, two were signed by the club as undrafted free agents this offseason and one was brought in as an invitee.

PRESEASON TRAINING TO TAKE REVS TO AUSTIN, TEXAS, AND NORTH CAROLINA

The Revolution will travel to Austin, Texas, and North Carolina for outdoor training trips in late February and early March as the team prepares for the opening of the 2009 Major League Soccer season on March 21. The full schedule is as follows:

REVOLUTION ANNOUNCES 2009 SCHEDULE

The Revolution's 2009 regular-season schedule - a 30-game slate that begins March 21 and ends on Oct. 25 - was announced in late January ... the schedule features 15 home matches at Gillette Stadium and includes a three-week break from MLS action so that the Revs can defend their SuperLiga title beginning in mid-June ... following road trips to San Jose and MLS Cup runner-up New York to open the season, the Revolution kicks off the 2009 home schedule against FC Dallas on Saturday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. ... ESPN2 will televise New England's road match at rival D.C. United on Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m., before the club returns home on Sunday, May 3, to host the Houston Dynamo at 3 p.m. ... the LA Galaxy will come to Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 8, in a nationally televised match on Fox Soccer Channel, while the Revs will close their 2009 regular-season home schedule against bitter rival, the Chicago Fire, on Saturday, Oct. 17 ... eight of New England's matches will be nationally televised on one of MLS' three broadcast partners - ESPN2/ABC, Fox Soccer Channel/Fox Soccer en Español and Telefutura - while TV38 (WSBK-TV) will carry 24 matches.
