Revolution travels to Chicago to tackle first-place Fire

The New England Revolution (9-1-5, 32 pts.) travel to the Illinois this weekend for a first-place clash against the Chicago Fire (10-6-2, 32 pts.) at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 at Soldier Field. The Revolution and the Fire have met twice this season, with both games ending in Revolution wins (3-0, 4/27; 2-0, 5/7). Saturday night's game will be broadcast live on WB56 and can be heard on WEEI 850 AM, as well as being heard streaming live on www.revolutionsoccer.net.

Next week, Gillette Stadium will feature two 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup matchdays. First, an important group-stage doubleheader will take place in Foxborough on Tuesday, July 12, featuring the U.S. against Costa Rica at 7:00 p.m. and Canada vs. Cuba at 9:00 p.m. On July 16, Gillette Stadium will host two quarterfinal matches, which will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., followed by the Revolution vs. FC Dallas game at 7:00 p.m. For ticket information, call 1-877-GET-REVS.

Also, English Premier League champions Chelsea FC will play Italian Serie A powerhouse A.C. Milan at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24. A.C. Milan has won 17 Italian Serie A titles, most recently in 2004. The Italian superpower is a six-time European Champion and finished second in the 2005 UEFA Champion's League. Chelsea, led by Portuguese manager José Mourinho, won the 2005 English Premiership with 95 points on the campaign, posting a record of 28 wins, eight ties and only one loss during the regular season.
