New England Revolution News Release

Foxborough, Mass.-- The New England Revolution announced today that forward Joe-Max Moore will miss the next 6-8 weeks of the MLS season with a Grade II sprain of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee. Moore injured himself in the second half of the Revolution's 1-1 draw on Sunday, April 25 against the MetroStars at Giants Stadium. The diagnosis was made by team doctors after Moore underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at Shield's MRI.

"It's unfortunate for Joe-Max and for the team," said Revolution Head Coach Steve Nicol. "Joe gives his heart and soul every minute he's on the field and sometimes these things happen. The positive is that he came into the season extremely fit and we're confident he'll make a quick and full recovery."

Moore, now in his sixth season with the Revolution (1996-99, 2003-04), registered two assists in the Revs' first three games of 2004. He is the club's all-time leading scorer with 117 points. One of the most decorated players in United States soccer history, Moore has appeared 100 times for the U.S. National Team and is second all-time in U.S. goal scoring with 29. Moore is currently part of the U.S. National Team player pool.

Shield's MRI is the official MRI provider for the New England Revolution. Visit http://www.shields.com for more information.

The Revolution play at home against the Los Angeles Galaxy this Saturday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium. Call 1-877-GET-REVS for Revolution ticket information.
