York, PA - The York Revolution (39-25, 75-59) completed the four game sweep of the Somerset Patriots (28-36, 63-71) with a 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon from Sovereign Bank Stadium. With the victory, the Revolution clinched the Wild Card. York will be going to the postseason for the third time in as many years.
York took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth frame as catcher Salomon Manriquez collected a RBI via a sacrifice fly.
Third baseman Chris Nowak smacked his Atlantic League leading 34th homer of the year in the sixth inning that expanded the Revs lead to 2-0 which would be the final.
Corey Thurman earned his 14th win of the season. Justin Cassel suffered his 10th loss of the year. Michael Benacka earned his first save of the season.
The 2012 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on Tuesday, September 18th when the Patriots return home to take on the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 p.m. The game features Bark in the Park Night with a chance for all fans to bring their dog to the ballpark.
