Sacramento Republic FC News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento Republic FC will host a traditional Thanksgiving dinner today for underserved families currently seeking services and support through Street Soccer USA and Sister Nora's Place. Republic FC goalkeeper Evan Newton and midfielder Danny Barrera will help serve dinner to the Street Soccer USA families and entertain the kids with games and crafts.

Families were selected through Street Soccer USA and Sister Nora's Place. Sister Nora's Place provides long-term shelter and case management for women with a history of homelessness, trauma and serious mental and physical illness. These women are often times society's most vulnerable and forgotten people. Street Soccer USA is a local non-profit that works to combat homelessness and build life-changing community based sports programs for the least served communities in Sacramento and is a 2016 Glory Glory Sacramento Fund recipient. The dinner will be a chance for these families to be together, something that is not always attainable due to a variety of factors.
