El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The Reno Aces batted around in two separate innings and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 13-5 Saturday night at Southwest University Park. The two teams have split the first two meetings of the four-game series.

The Aces scored four times on five hits in the first inning and have now scored in the first inning of all five matchups against El Paso this season. Reno added two more runs in the second and chased El Paso starter Justin Hancock before he recorded an out in the second inning.

Austin Hedges' RBI single in the bottom of the fourth got the Chihuahuas on the board. After Reno pushed the lead to 11-1 in the top of the sixth, the Chihuahuas made it interesting in the bottom of the sixth when they brought in four runs before the inning's second out. The comeback attempt ended there and the Aces later tacked on two more runs in the top of the ninth.

Hunter Renfroe went 3-for-5 with three doubles, his second straight three-hit game. His three doubles tied Cody Decker and Rymer Liriano for the Chihuahuas' single-game doubles record. Aaron Northcraft tossed 3.1 scoreless relief innings to keep El Paso in the game early. Alex Dickerson went 2-for-2 with two RBIs coming off the Chihuahuas' bench.
