Moncton Wildcats News Release

MONCTON N.B. - The Wildcats came up just short tonight in a tough shootout loss against the Québec Remparts 5-4 in front of 3586 fans at the Moncton Coliseum.

Alex Renaud was the game's first star tonight recording the hat trick! His three goals came at 18:26 of the first, and would then go onto scored twice more in the second only 25 seconds apart. Connor Senken also added another goal for the Cats in the second frame, his second of the season, to give the Wildcats a 4-0 lead headed into the final 20 minutes of play.

Moncton was still holding a 4-0 lead through the first 10 minutes of the third, but at 10:48 Québec registered their first on the power play, and Moncton was not able to hold them from there. They would go onto score three more goals in the third to even things up at 4-4. This game would head to overtime and an eventual shootout. Unfortunately, Tessier and Cyr both did not register in the shootout for Moncton and the visitors scored twice to seal the win with goals by Buynitskiy and Boucher.

The Wildcats are back on the ice tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. as they take on the Saint John Sea Dogs. It's social media night, download our new Wildcats app for free, and tell us where you are sitting for your chance to win great prizes!
