San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 30, 2016) - The San Antonio Rampage (3-5-0-0) dropped their fifth-consecutive game in the AT&T Center 4-2 to the Ontario Reign (3-1-2-0). Despite entering Sunday's contest on a three-game winstreak, the Rampage failed to hang on to their early lead in the first period.
For the sixth-consecutive game, the Rampage tallied the contest's first goal. San Antonio lit the lamp at the 12:58 mark in the frame, when Mike Sislo collected his second goal of the season. Sislo has scored goals in back-to-back games dating back to Friday's contest against the Cleveland Monsters, giving the Wisconsin native his first goal streak of the season.
The Silver and Black took a 1-0 lead into the second period, until Ontario found the back of the net against San Antonio's Spencer Martin. Kurtis MacDermid bagged his first of the season at 5:26 as the defenseman connected on a shot from the point. Nearly seven minutes later, the Reign tallied their second of the game when Sam Herr tipped one past the Rampage netminder. For the first time this season, the Rampage went into the second intermission trailing by the score of 2-1.
San Antonio answered Ontario in the fourth minute of the third period when Sam Jardine sent a rocket from the blue line. Jardine collected his second of the season, and the Silver and Black's only power-play goal of the night. Ontario rallied late in the frame when Sean Backman landed the game winner at 12:45 and secured the victory with an empty-net goal with 57 seconds remaining. The Rampage opted to pull Martin in favor of an extra skater in the final minute, but a costly San Antonio turnover allowed Backman a one-on-none situation with the empty net.
Notes
A.J. Greer extended his points streak to five games after he collected the secondary assist on Sam Jardine's power-play goal. Greer has tallied eight total points, which ranks him 11th overall and first amongst all rookies in the American Hockey League.
Mason Geertsen and Shawn St-Amant made their season debuts, while Matt Lashoff recorded his first point in a Rampage sweater.
Lineup Notes
Trent Vogelhuber moved up to San Antonio's first line, skating alongside Gary Nunn and Joe Whitney. Jim O'Brien took his place on line three with Sam Henley and Mike Sislo. Shawn Ouellette-St. Amant made his Rampage debut, rotating opportunities with Julien Nantel on the fourth.
Mason Geertsen also returned to the ice for the first time this season, anchoring the third defensive line with Matt Lashoff.

The San Antonio Rampage visit California for their first major road trip of the season when they take on the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena. Wednesday night's contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. and is the beginning of a six-game road stint for the Silver and Black.
