Florence RedWolves News Release

LEXINGTON, S.C.- Heath Holder had all the answers for the Blowfish Tuesday night, hurling a complete game no-hitter, the first in Lexington County Blowfish baseball history. Holder got one run in support and that is all he needed to pick up the win, 1-0.

It was a night of pitching, as the (15-8) Florence RedWolves took the I-20 route to square up with the (12-12) Lexington County Blowfish at Lexington County Baseball Stadium Tuesday night. Luke Humphreys (Morehead State) toed the rubber for the Red and Black and, Heath Holder (University of Georgia) for the Blowfish.

Each starting pitcher was dominant all night on the mound. Humphreys worked just five innings, but managed to hold Lexington County to one hit in his outing. After giving up the one hit to begin the second, Humphreys sat down the next 12 batters in a row with 8 strikeouts; struck out six straight.

Heath Holder was no match for the RedWolves offence, throwing the 108-pitch no-hitter. He did allow base runners to get on however, issuing four walks, and striking out seven.

The Blowfish were able to score the lone run needed coming in the bottom of the sixth; Alex Schnell (Clemson) took over on the mound for Humphreys. Dalton Duty (University of Central Florida) led of the inning with an infield single to third. He would then be thrown out a second on a 4-6-3 FC from, Nick Gragganella, who would reach first. Jared Williams (University of South Carolina) drew a one-out walk, followed by another fielder's choice from JD Crowe (Francis Marion), 4-6 FC getting Williams at second. The next batter, Madison Stokes (University of South Carolina) then sent a line shot to the right field wall for a double, scoring Gragganella to take the 1-0 lead.

Schnell picked up his second loss (1-2) working just the sixth inning, giving up the run on two hits, one walk and no strikeouts.
