RedHawks Take Fifth Straight Win, 4-3

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Tommy Manzella drove in the game winning run with a ninth inning sacrifice fly, leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks (39-50) to a 4-3 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers (48-41) before 6,163 Friday night at RedHawks Field at Bricktown.

RedHawks reliever Sammy Gervacio (2-0) dealt a scoreless inning for the winning decision. Robinson Tejeda (0-3) allowed an inherited runner to score for the tying run in the eighth inning before giving up the game-ending sacrifice fly for the losing decision.

Oklahoma City took a third inning lead when Oswaldo Navarro scored on a Brandon Barnes fielder's choice for a 1-0 score. Omaha countered immediately in the fourth inning as Lorenzo Cain belted a two-out, solo home run to left field for a 1-1 score.

The RedHawks regained the lead in the sixth inning when Drew Locke singled home Luis Durango with two out for a 2-1 advantage. The Storm Chasers re-tied the game in the seventh inning when Johnny Giavotella singled home Irving Falu with two out for a 2-2 score.

Omaha took their first lead of the game in the eighth inning as David Lough scored on a Mike Aviles double play ball, giving the Storm Chasers a 3-2 advantage.

Oklahoma City answered again in the bottom of the eighth inning. Luis Durango walked with one out, moved to second on a J.B. Shuck single and scored on a Robinson Cancel single for a 3-3 tie.

In the ninth inning, Anderson Hernandez singled, moved to second on a balk, advanced to third on a Navarro sacrifice bunt and scored on a Manzella sacrifice fly for a 4-3 RedHawks win.
