FARGO, ND - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have re-signed LHP Tyler Alexander and added RHP Tyler Parmenter to the roster for the 2016 season. With the signings, the RedHawks now have 13 players under contract for the upcoming campaign.

Alexander, 24, had a breakout season with Fargo-Moorhead in 2015 after signing with the club in early June. He was 5-5 with a 3.31 ERA in 21 games (14 starts). Alexander pitched 111.1 innings and allowed 47 runs (41 earned) on just 91 hits. He struck out 111 batters and walked 52. Alexander's strikeout total was good for fourth in the American Association last year.

Alexander joined the starting rotation in late June and posted quality starts nine times in 14 outings. He also posted three complete games. He struck out 11 batters twice during the season and recorded a ten-strikeout game as well.

Alexander is entering his fourth season of professional baseball. He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 27th round of the 2013 draft out of Florida International University. In his career, he is 12-11 with a 3.78 ERA in 60 games (25 starts). He has struck out 232 batters and walked 96 in 207.1 innings pitched.

Parmenter, 22, joins the RedHawks after spending the past two years in the Cincinnati Reds organization. He appeared in 19 total games last year between the Billings (MT) Mustangs of the Pioneer League (R) and the Dayton (OH) Dragons of the Midwest League (A). Parmenter was 2-3 with a 3.94 ERA and one save between the two stops. In 32.0 innings, pitched, he allowed 18 runs (14 earned) on 32 hits while striking out 38 batters.

Parmenter was selected by the Reds in the 21st round of the 2014 draft out of the University of Arizona. Originally an infielder, Parmenter converted to pitching before his final season with the Wildcats. In his two-year professional career, he is 2-4 with a 3.19 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 48.0 innings pitched.

"We expect Alexander to come in and take one of the top spots in our rotation this summer," said RedHawks Manager Doug Simunic. "He showed he has the make-up and the stuff to be one of the top starters in the league. Parmenter is still learning to pitch, but he has a power arm that should translate well to our bullpen."
