Tonight's scheduled starting pitchers:

RH Elizardo Ramirez (7-9, 4.59) vs. RH Ryan Sadowski (5-2, 4.11)

TONIGHT: The Oklahoma City RedHawks look to even their record on this trip with Game 2 of a 4-game set at Fresno. The RedHawks won the series opener last night 2-1 and are 2-3 on the trip and five games back of Albuquerque in the American South. Righthander Elizardo Ramirez, the RedHawks' leader in starts (19), wins (7) and innings (115.2) gets the start. Righthander Ryan Sadowski goes for Fresno in his first career start (second appearance) against OKC. Fresno is second in the Pacific South, 8.5 games back of Sacramento. Fresno is tied with Albuquerque for the second-best win percentage in the PCL (.543), but has the largest deficit of all the second-place clubs because of Sacramento's league-best 71-44 record.

MAJEWSKI'S BLAST IS ENOUGH: Dustin Majewski's first Triple-A homer and first 2 RBIs provided just enough offense in OKC's 2-1 win in last night's series opener. Majewski, promoted from Double-A Frisco on Friday, lined a Ramon Ortiz pitch into the right field seats with Joaquin Arias aboard and nobody out in the first before Ortiz (5-3) and Alex Hinshaw blanked the RedHawks from there. For the second straight game, all of OKC's runs came in one inning, following a 4-run second in Sunday's 11-4 defeat at Sacramento. Guillermo Moscoso (4-3) allowed 1 run in 6.2 innings for the win. A.J. Murray and Willie Eyre each stranded potential tying runs on base in separate innings before Warner Madrigal pitched a scoreless ninth for his 14th save.

DIVISION UPDATE: The RedHawks gained ground on Albuquerque last night for just the fourth time since the All-Star break, going from 6 to 5 games back. OKC hit the break 1 game behind the Isotopes, who had a league-best 19-8 July record and are 5-5 this month.

ONE IS THE LONELIEST NUMBER: RedHawks pitching has limited the opposition to exactly 1 run in a game 18 times this season, going 17-1 when allowing a single tally. OKC has held the opposition to a single run in 15.8% of this season's games. The RedHawks improved last night to 21-12 in one-run games, trailing only Memphis (23-18) and Sacramento (22-11) in one-run wins.

MORE NUMBERS: The RedHawks are 33-4 when holding the opposition to 2 runs or fewer. On the other side, OKC is 0-21 when giving up 8 or more.

STREAKING: Royce Huffman owns the RedHawks' best current hitting streak (8 games), during which he's 12-for-33 (.364) with 1 homer and 2 RBIs. Huffman has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games dating to July 23, going 25-for-67 (.373) in that span. He has more doubles (24) than any other RedHawk has extra-base hits. Joaquin Arias has a 7-game hitting streak, going 12-for-29 (.414) with 2 homers and 6 RBIs. Chris Davis has a 6-game hitting streak, including back-to-back 2-hit games, going 8-for-21 (.381).

PACIFIC PRESSURE: The RedHawks entered this series having dropped 3 out of 4 to each of the Pacific South clubs (Sacramento, Reno and Las Vegas). OKC is in a 16-game stretch where it faces the top two teams in each division of the Pacific Conference. The RedHawks return home to face Salt Lake and Colorado Springs starting Friday.

NEW NAME FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The Bricktown Showdown, which the PCL champion has won in all three of its editions, is now the Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game. The annual meeting of the playoff champions from the International and Pacific Coast Leagues takes place at Oklahoma City's AT&T Bricktown Ballpark Sept. 22 at 6 pm CDT and will be broadcast live again this season on ESPN2 and Westwood One radio.
