Tonight's Game-- The RedHawks will try to win the series as well as avoid losing consecutive games for the first time this season when they wrap up their series in Memphis tonight at 7:05 p.m. After snapping a nine-game losing streak yesterday, the Redbirds are looking for consecutive wins for the first time in 2012.

Yesterday-- The Redbirds snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the RedHawks at AutoZone Park. The RedHawks opened the scoring in the second inning when J.B. Shuck singled with two out and scored on a Landon Powell single over the right fielder for a 1-0 score. Memphis tied the game in the third inning via a two-out RBI single by Adron Chambers. OKC regained the lead in the sixth when pitcher Paul Clemens knocked an RBI single. However, Memphis plated two in the seventh to take their first lead. Shuck tied the game in the eighth with an RBI groundout, but the Redbirds scored the go-ahead run later in the frame when Chris Swauger scored on an error by shorstop Angel Sanchez. Redbirds reliever Eduardo Sanchez tossed a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save.

Today's Probable Pitchers-- Aneury Rodriguez makes his third start of the sesaon...He currently is third in the PCL with 16 strikeouts, and is tops among starting pitchers in the circuit with a 14.9 K/9 ratio...Rodriguez has struggled to go deep into games, as he has lasted just 9.2 innings between his first two starts, throwing at least 94 pitches each time...In his previous start against Memphis on 4/6, Rodriguez earned the win allowing three runs over five innings with nine strikeouts...Memphis starter Brian Broderick has had a bumpy start to 2012...He has been tagged with the loss in each of his first two starts, allowing eight runs and 14 hits in his first nine innings...Broderick allowed six runs and eight hits over four innings in Bricktown on 4/6 in a loss to the RedHawks...Both of these pitchers were 2010 Rule 5 Draft picks...Although Rodriguez stayed with the Astros for all of 2011, Broderick was returned to the Cardinals after making 11 appearances with the Washington Nationals.

Keuchel Named PCL Pitcher of the Week-- RedHawks starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel was named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week earlier today. In his first two starts of the season, Keuchel combined to go 2-0 while tossing 13 scoreless innings. He has given up just six hits--all singles--and has yet to walk an opposing hitter. The Tulsa native has also registered 24 groundouts among the 39 total outs he's recorded. (4.8:1 GO/FO ratio.)

Against the Norm-- Over the last two games, the RedHawks have been a surprising 2-for-17 with runners in scoring position, leaving 22 men on base. Through the first nine games of the season, the team posted a .360 clip with runners in scoring position. Their .317 average for the season still ranks 4th in the PCL, and their .340 mark with runners in scoring position and 2 outs still leads the league by a wide margin.

Trends in Losses-- Each of the three RedHawks defeats this year have been by just one run. Oddly enough, the RedHawks have scored first in each loss. They've also had the lead after six innings in two of those games.

Start Me Up-- Through the first 11 games of the season, the RedHawks starting pitchers have combined to go 6-1 with a 2.04 ERA, turning in six quality starts in the process. In 61.2 IP, they've allowed just 55 hits and have posted an impressive 58:12 (4.8:1) strikeout to walk ratio.

Living in the Zone-- The RedHawks pitching staff has allowed just 24 walks this season, tied with Colorado Springs for the best in the PCL. (It should be noted the Sky Sox have played one less game.) In six of their 11 games, they have issued two walks or less. This past week, the pitching staff went through a stretch of 23.1 innings without a free pass.

Notable Streaks-- Since he splits time behind the plate with Carlos Corporan, Landon Powell has quietly put together a six-game hitting streak (.368) to start his season. On the other hand, Mike Hessman is currently on a six-game hitless streak and is 0 for his last 21 with nine strikeouts.

Bixler's Big Addition-- After getting optioned to the RedHawks from Houston, Brian Bixler has made quite the first impression. In his first three games with the RedHawks, Bixler is 7-for-12 and has reached base in 10 of his first 15 plate apperances. Bixler has also added another dimension to the team, already stealing four bases.

Fantastic Fernando-- RedHawks outfielder Fernando Martinez has hit safely in 10 of his first 11 games, including each start. He is tied for second in the PCL in RBIs (13) and leads the team in hits (14), home runs (3), and extra-base hits (6).

Against the Redbirds-- After a one-run setback on opening night, the RedHawks have taken five of the last six from the Redbirds...They've outscored Memphis 46-22, winning by seven runs or more three times...For the season, they are hitting .303 against the Memphis pitching staff...Last season the RedHawks were just 5-11 against the Redbirds and went 1-7 at AutoZone Park, losing their last seven straight...The next series is June 30-July 3 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
