Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City RedHawks tallied seven extra-base hits, including two home runs, but they were not enough in a 7-6 loss to the Iowa Cubs Monday in front of 3,469 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The seven extra-base hits by the RedHawks Monday exceeded their total from their previous five games combined as Oklahoma City (33-28) and Iowa (29-34) opened a four-game series.

A single from Jose Martinez scored Carlos Perez to cut Iowa's lead to one run later in the inning.

Jonathan Villar hit a two-run home run to left field for a 4-3 Oklahoma City lead in the third inning - his fifth of the season.

Grossman stole home with Jake Elmore batting for a 5-4 lead in the fourth inning.

Iowa's Ian Stewart doubled to score Junior Lake and Darnell McDonald doubled to score Stewart for a 6-5 Iowa lead in the fifth.

A RBI single by Krauss scored Brett Wallace with two outs to cut Iowa's lead to one run in the bottom of the ninth. Che-Hsuan Lin was caught stealing second base to end the game.

Pitcher Philip Humber (0-2) made his third start of the season with the RedHawks and allowed six runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out three in the loss.

Iowa starting pitcher Yoanner Negrin (1-2) got his first win of the season after allowing five runs on 10 hits in five innings. He struck out eight and walked two.
