MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis used a four-run second inning to win their second straight game over Fresno with a 6-3 victory Thursday night at AutoZone Park.
The Redbirds used three hits and a pair of walks to do all the damage in the second inning. With the bases loaded Brandon Yarbrough delivered his first of two doubles on the night to score the first two runs. Memphis starter Adam Ottavino followed with a two-run single to extend the lead to 4-0. Yarbrough and Ottavino each finished the night with two hits. Ryan Rohlinger paced the Grizzlies driving in two runs with a double in the ninth.
Ottavino earned his seventh win in his last eight starts pitching into the ninth. The former first round pick allowed three runs on eight hits with three strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work. Fresno starter Ramon Ortiz gave up six runs, five earned, on eight hits in six innings to take the loss.
Memphis wraps up their series with Fresno tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The first 1500 fans through the gates will receive AutoZone Park posters. P.J.
