TONIGHTÂfS GAME: After ending their four-game losing streak with a 6-5 win in the nightcap of TuesdayÂfs twin bill at Frontier Field over Syracuse, the Red Wings head to Buffalo to play a one-game ÂgseriesÂh against the Bisons at Coca-Cola Field on Wednesday night (6:05 p.m.)... The Wings have dropped 7 of their last 12 games, however, since May 27 the Wings are 22-15... Rochester trails Lehigh Valley (45-40) and Norfolk (45-40) by 4.0 games in the Wild Card standings and Pawtucket by 10.5 games in the IL North... Meanwhile, the Bisons are 5-5 in their last 10 affairs and 14-17 since the start of June. They sit 2.5 games in front of the Red Wings and 1.5 GB in the Wild Card (8.0 GB in the North)... The Wings return to the Flower City tomorrow (July 4th) to open a four-game series against the first-place Paw Sox (Boston).

RED WINGS FLYING TO RENO: 1B Chris Colabello and LHP Andrew Albers will represent the Wings at the 2013 Triple-A All-Star Game in Reno, NV... Colabello, the overall leader in the online fan balloting, will start at first base for the IL squad while Albers was selected as a reserve... Colabello is currently leading the league in numerous offensive categories including AVG (.360), SLG (.655), OPS (1.085) and RBI (65). The 29-year-old also ranks in the top three of several other statistical categories including OBP (2nd, .431), XBH (T-2nd, 41), TB (2nd, 180), hits (T-2nd, 99) and HR (3rd, 20)... Meanwhile, since the beginning of May, Albers is 7-2 with a 2.74 ERA in 11 starts including his first career complete-game shutout on June 7 against Gwinnett. The Saskatchewan native ranks among league leaders in ERA (7th, 3.13), wins (T-4th, 7), SO (4th, 80), IP (9th, 92.0) and WHIP (T-10th, 1.26).

ALL-STAR SNUB: After a monster month of June, Red Wings shortstop Doug Bernier certainly deserved to make his first All-Star Game in his 7th full season at Triple-A. Bernier batted .350 (35-for-100) with 14 XBH (10 2B, 3 3B & HR), 15 RBI and 21 runs in 29 games during June. He also had an OBP of .416 and a SLG of .540 for a .956 OPS in the month. Overall, Bernier is hitting .294 with 3 homers and 37 RBI in 82 games with Rochester... Furthermore, Bernier committed just one error in June and currently leads all IL shortstops with a .988 fielding percentage (4 E in 347 TC). Only SYRÂfs Zach Walters has had more chances at SS this season and he has committed 20 errors... Walters made the team over Bernier hitting 48 points less, with an OBP 90 points below BernierÂfs and only 7 more RBI.

MITCHELL JOINS THE WINGS: The Minnesota Twins signed outfielder Jermaine Mitchell and assigned him to Rochester on Wednesday... Mitchell, 28, hit .256 with 5 home runs and 18 RBI in 63 games with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs this season before being released by Philadelphia on July 1. He had hit safely in 9 of his last 12 games with LHV hitting .298 with 10 runs over that span. With Mitchell in the leadoff spot the IronPigs were 30-17 this season... Selected by the Oakland AÂfs in the 5th round of the 2006 draft out of UNC Greensboro, Mitchell never made it to the Big Leagues in seven seasons (2006-12) in the AÂfs organization... Mitchell was the AÂfs Minor League Player of the Year in 2011 batting .332 between AA/AAA... To make room on the roster, RHP A.J. Achter was transferred to New Britain. Achter had not appeared in a game after his first career Triple-A promotion on Sunday.

¨MIN released C Danny Lehmann on Wednesday... Lehmann had been on the DL with a right elbow injury.

HOMER DROUGHT: After homering in a season high seven straight games from June 22-28, the Wings have been held without a long ball for a tied for season-high four consecutive games now... The Wings have hit 9 homers in their last 17 games and they have all come off the bat of either Chris Colabello or Jeff Clement... The last Red Wings player besides Colabello or Clement to homer was Dan Rohlfing on June 16... With Rohlfing sent to New Britain on Sunday, the last Wings player on their current roster to homer besides Colabello and Clement was Drew Butera on June 14 vs Gwinnett.

CLOSING TIME: The Red Wings are now 11-for-11 in save opportunities since the beginning of June... The Wings, who led the league with 48 saves a season ago, currently rank 2nd in the IL with 26 saves despite the fact no Red Wings pitcher has more than six on the year. RHP Luis Perdomo, who has a team-leading 6 saves, ranks T-13th in the IL in that category... The Wings have used a closer-by-committee approach as already a tied for franchise record 11 different Red Wings have recorded a save for the Wings in 2013... The 2012, 2009 and 1995 clubs also had 11 hurlers record a save.

¨The Red Wings are the only team in the IL this season that has yet to lose when leading after 8 innings (34-0)

ODD & ENDS: The Wings were an IL-worst 12-14 when scoring first on May 25, however they have gone 17-2 when scoring first since and their 29-16 (.644) mark is now 8th in the IL... The Wings are 18-11 in one run games this year -- 4th best in the IL. Their 18 wins are 2nd most in the league behind NorfolkÂfs 20 one-run victories... Rochester leads the IL in walks allowed with only 264 allowed in 752.2 innings.
