Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Red Stars are excited to announce their 2016 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) preseason schedule, which will begin on Monday, March 14.

Three games have been scheduled for this year's preseason, with two open to the public. The first game will be a closed scrimmage against Illinois State on March 18. The Red Stars will then have two road games against top NCAA programs in Northwestern on April 3 at 5 p.m. CT and University of Notre Dame on April 6 at 6 p.m. CT. Both away games will be open to the public and free of charge for fans. The complete preseason schedule with venue information may be found below.

Chicago Red Stars 2016 Preseason Schedule

Friday, March 18 - Chicago Red Stars vs. Illinois State University (closed to public)

Sunday, April 3 - Chicago Red Stars vs. Northwestern at 5 p.m. (Central) at Northwestern, 2221 N. Campus Dr., Evanston, Ill.

Wednesday, April 6 - Chicago Red Stars vs. Notre Dame at 6 p.m. (Central) at Notre Dame, Alumni Stadium, South Bend, In.

The Red Stars preseason roster consists of all players currently under contract and all seven selections in the 2016 NWSL College Draft. There will be a possibility of more hopefuls joining the roster after open tryouts commences on February 18-19.

Players and coaches will report on Friday, March 11 in Chicago, Ill. A full schedule of training camp, including information for media, will be released in March.
