Red Bulls Managing Director Erik Stover Named Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year

SECAUCUS, NJ (Nov. 22, 2010) – Major League Soccer announced today that Red Bull New York Managing Director Erik Stover was named the Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year. In addition, among the League's 2010 Club and Executive Award Winners, Red Bulls Retail Manager Brett Salzenstein earned the Concessionaire/Merchandiser of the Year award.

"I am extremely honored to be named the Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year," Stover said. "As a team, we have worked very hard to build a club that our fans can be proud of. I think we have taken a significant step towards this goal with what we accomplished this year both on and off the field. I want to thank all of our employees, fans and the league for their support and we are optimistic that we have a very bright future ahead."

Concluding his third season with the Red Bulls, Stover oversees all day-to-day business and commercial aspects of the club. Stover was also responsible for the construction of Red Bull Arena, the team's new stadium in Harrison, NJ and the premier soccer facility in North America. Additionally, Stover was instrumental in the signing of international superstars Thierry Henry and Rafa Marquez in Summer 2010 and bringing quality renowned clubs including Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus FC to play in Red Bull Arena.

Stover joined the organization on March 1, 2008, as Vice President, Operations, and General Manager of Red Bull Arena. He was promoted to his new position on May 28, 2008.

Prior to joining Red Bull New York, Stover served as the General Manager of Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego since 2005. Prior to his tenure at Qualcomm Stadium, Stover spent nine years with the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority where he served in a number of positions, rising to the position of Assistant Vice President of Stadium Operations of Giants Stadium. Stover's background includes facility and event management for both sports and entertainment properties. In addition, he had been involved in facility construction and renovation projects at both Qualcomm Stadium and Giants Stadium. He is a graduate of Penn State University.

Salzenstein has been the Red Bulls' Retail Manager since January 2010. Prior to joining the Red Bulls, Salzenstein has worked in various management capacities with the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League and the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball. Salzenstein, who originally hails from St. Louis, MO., has been with Delaware North Companies – the official concessionaire and merchandiser for Red Bull Arena – for six years. He attended DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
