Cincinnati was not to be deterred and cut their deficit in half with less than five minutes remaining in the frame, when defenseman Jaynen Rissling sent a pass from below the goal line to O'Donnell who slammed the puck in from one knee to pull the Cyclones to within a goal, 2-1.
That 2-1 score held up throughout the remainder of the second, and in the third the Aces extended their lead to 3-1 midway through the frame when forward Peter Sivak lit the lamp for the 33rd time this season.
Cincinnati began the comeback not long after, as the power play brought them to within a goal at the 13:00 mark when a blast from the point from Lefebvre was tipped in by Zombo to bring the score to 3-2 in favor of Alaska.
