St. John's IceCaps News Release

HARTFORD, CT - The IceCaps battled hard but couldn't catch up to the Wolf Pack as they fell 6-3 in their season opener at the XL Center in Hartford on Friday night. Hartford kicked off the scoring just 1:56 into the game with a tally from Tambellini. Charles Hudon tied it up for St. John's but just 15 seconds later Philip McRae pulled the Wolf Pack ahead. Chris Terry and Max Friberg added to the IceCaps scoring, with Charles Hudon picking up an assist for a two-point game. The IceCaps were aggressive on the offensive, but goals from Robin Kovacs, Cristoval Nieves and John Gilmour lifted the Wolf Pack back to the lead, before Marek Hrivik sealed the win with an empty-netter.
