Rebels Get Past Prince Albert 4-3

PRINCE ALBERT, SK - The Rebels ran their winning streak to three as they edged the Prince Albert Raiders 4-3 on Tuesday.

The Rebels opened the scoring in the first period; Nelson Nogier made it 1-0, that was the score after the opening frame.

The Raiders took advantage of a 5 on 3 power play, scoring twice. Jesse Lees and Reid Gardiner gave the Raiders a 2-1 lead. The Rebels responded with goals by Conner Bleackley and Grayson Pawlenchuk, it was a 3-2 lead for Red Deer after two periods.

In the third, the Raiders tied the game on a goal by Jordan Tkatch. The Rebels got the game winner with 7:35 left in the third period, as Ivan Nikolishin found Adam Helewka on a 2 on 1 break. Helewka scored and the Rebels held off a late Raiders push.

NIkolishin had two assists, and along with Grayson Pawlenchuk, they are both riding five game point streaks.

Rylan Toth finished with 26 saves for Red Deer; Rylan Parenteau made 33 saves in the Raiders goal.

The Rebels were 0 for 1 on the power play; the Raiders were 2 for 3 with the man advantage.

The Rebels are in Saskatoon on Wednesday, the broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 5:55PM.
