Real Salt Lake / Real Monarchs Introduce Inaugural Fan Council for 2016 Campaign

February 1, 2016 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Real Monarchs News Release

SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake Chief Business Officer Andy Carroll today introduced the construction and implementation of the RSL Fan Council, inviting a cross-section of nearly two dozen fans to participate in guiding policy regarding business and competition issues between RSL/Real Monarchs and its most loyal constituencies - the 15,000+ Season Ticket Members that have created the vibrant soccer culture in Utah and surrounding areas.

"Our mission in the Fan Council is to encourage an even higher level of open communication amongst all cross-sections of our fans," said Carroll, now in his fourth season with RSL. "We are always seeking to improve the RSL in-stadium and community experiences for our fans, and we expect that this formalization of the communication process will improve Season Ticket Member satisfaction and engagement, ultimately guiding the continued growth at all levels for the sport of soccer in our backyard."

As a 2016 RSL "PRIDE" Season Ticket Member, YOU have the opportunity to nominate fellow diehard Claret-and-Cobalt fans to represent various entities from all over the Stadium on the inaugural Fan Council. Please submit candidates by e-mailing RSL Fan Relations specialist Tom Penrose at TPenrose@RSL.com no later than Wednesday, Feb. 10.

The first-ever RSL Fan Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Rio Tinto Stadium, in conjunction with RSL's CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal Leg One at Tigres (Mexico) in Monterrey. Subsequent meetings will then be held every other month thereafter.

Selected council members - chosen from various constituencies throughout different geographic locations of Rio Tinto Stadium (i.e., Supporter Groups, Premium, Ford Zone, South Goal, West Sideline, North Goal, East Sideline, Upper Deck) - will serve a one-year term on the Council, and will be expected to attend each of the six annual Fan Council meetings to provide feedback and insight from the fan perspective. Meetings will be one hour in length, and are designed each session to open dialogue as to where and how RSL can implement ideas and plans for the future, with the fans in turn offering suggestions to RSL in a structured manner.

Prior to each meeting, all RSL fans worldwide will have the opportunity to submit ideas & suggested topics for consideration via e-mail and social media, even if they are not a part of the Fan Council. Following each meeting, minutes will be taken and distributed, with follow-up and action items to be discussed as warranted.

The general public sale for 2016 RSL / Monarchs season tickets is ongoing. The Rio Tinto Stadium box office is open Tues.-Fri., 10a-6p; more information can be found online at www.RSL.com/Tickets or via the Fan Relations Hotline at 801-727-2702.
