(Curve, PA) - Chace Numata's return from the disabled list couldn't be any better as he hit the winning RBI-single off Tate Scioneaux (6-5) in the top of the 10th inning to give the Reading Fightin Phils (60-53) a 5-4 win over the Altoona Curve (58-55) at People's Natural Gas Field.

The Fightin Phils wasted no-time getting after Curve starter Casey Sadler in the top of the first inning. Zach Coppola and Malquin Canelo hit back-to-back singles to jump start inning. Carlos Tocci struck out swinging then Kyle Martin hit a three-run home run to give Reading a 3-0 lead.

Altoona tied the game at 3-3 after scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Tyler Viza gave up a RBI triple to Pablo Reyes, a RBI single to Jerrick Suiter and a sacrifice fly to Wyatt Mathisen. The Curve took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third inning against Viza as Anderson Feliz scored on a RBI ground out from Jin-De Jhang.

Viza allowed four runs off five hits and four walks with two strikeouts in six innings. Garrett Cleavinger took over in the bottom of the seventh inning. He pitched a scoreless inning as he recorded one strikeout while giving up one hit.

Despite allowed three runs in the first inning, Sadler struck out seven batters while giving up five hits and issuing one walk. Tanner Anderson entered the game in the top of the seventh inning. Reading tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the eighth inning. Cord Sandberg hit a bases-loaded RBI single to score Martin. The single was Sandberg's third hit of the game.

Victor Arano (1-1) pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the Fightin Phils as the game would move to extra innings. Austin Davis retired the side in the bottom of the 10th inning to receive his first double-A save of the season. The win for Arano was his first since September 5th, 2016 at Trenton.
