Pullin homers, Fightins drop fourth straight

Andrew Pullin homers for the 10th time this season

(Trenton, NJ) - The Thunder scored three runs off Fightin Phils starter Shane Watson (2-3) in the bottom of the third to take a 3-0 lead. Abiatal Avelino led off the inning with a triple then scored on a groundout by Thairo Estrada. Tyler Austin and Jake Cave hit back-to-back triples to give the Thunder the second run of the inning. Miguel Andujar grounded out to third to score Cave for the third and final run of the inning.

Andrew Pullin hit his 10th home run of the season in the top of the fourth off Trenton's starter Ronald Herrera (5-0) to cut the lead to 3-1. The RBI was his 30th of the season. Watson left the game after 3 1/3 innings after he left two runners on the base paths.

Colton Murray entered the game in relief and struck out Abiatal Avelino for the second out. Thairo Estrata hit a RBI single off Murray to give Trenton a 4-1 lead. Estrata was thrown out at second base by Chace Numata to end the inning. The Thunder got another run in the bottom of the fifth as Austin scored on a RBI single by Billy McKinney to make it a 5-1 lead.

Pullin hit a RBI double off Herrera in the top of the sixth to score Malquin Canelo and cut Trenton's lead to 5-2. The double was Pullin's 15th of the season. Murray left the game after 1 2/3 innings and Joey DeNato entered the game to pitch in the bottom of the sixth.

Joey DeNato pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Colton Murray. Miguel Nunez pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. Thunder closer Cale Coshow earned his 10th save by pitching a scoreless top of the ninth.
