Reading Fightin Phils News Release
FIVE-RUN INNING NOT ENOUGH TO OVERCOME :
Tyler Viza ran into trouble with two outs in the bottom of the second. Rafael Devers hit a single to left-field then
moved to second base on a wild pitch. Nick Longhi hit a single then Tzu-Wei Lin reached on a walk. Devers was
picked off at second base by Chace Numata. Jordan Procyshen was hit by a pitch then Joseph Monge hit a two-
run double to give the Sea Dogs a 2-0 lead. Danny Mars followed with a two-run double then scored on a RBI
single from Jose Tobias. Portland scored five runs in the inning. Reading got a run off Portland's Teddy Stankiewicz
(1-0) in the top of the third to cut their lead to 5-1. Malquin Canelo hit a RBI single to score Aaron Brown with
one out in the inning. The Fightin Phils got their second run of the game off Stankiewicz in the top of the fifth as
Canelo scored on a RBI groundout by Andrew Pullin. Viza left the game with the bases loaded and two outs in the
bottom of the fifth. Mario Hollands entered the game in relief and got Lin to pop out to second-base to end the
inning. The Fightin Phils got within a run in the top of the seventh inning. They loaded the bases against Port-
land's Jake Cosart, who came to pitch in relief of Stankiewicz. Carlos Tocci and Kyle Martin reached base with back-
to-back walks. Osmel Aguila followed suit with a walk to load the bases. Numata struck out looking then Mitch
Walding brought in the first run with a bases loaded walk. Cosart left the game for Austin Maddox who would
face Aaron Brown. Brown was hit by a pitch to score Martin and bring the score to 5-4. Portland would hold on to
win the game and record their second five-game winning streak of the season. Maddox would record his second
save of the season. Osmel Aguila recorded his first multi-hit game as a Fightin Phil this season.

Portland's 1-0 win in Sunday's finale not only snapped Reading's 6-game winning streak, but was also their first
shutout loss

Cats
- This will be Reading's first doubleheader of the year, w/ three more scheduled for June 27 in Harrisburg, July 7 in

- Yacksel Rios & Jesen Therrien have become as dangerous of a late-inning duo as any in the Eastern League over
the first month:
- With 21 appearances, Therrien (14.2 IP/6 H/3 BB/23 SO) and Rios (15.1 IP/10 H/3 BB/25 SO) have allowed 1 ER in
their last 17.0 IP

- The Fightin Phils left a season-high 12 runners on base last night and finished 1-for-10 w/ RISP
