Rochester RazorSharks News Release

(Rochester, NY)...The 2008 Premier Basketball League Champions Rochester RazorSharks selected Brian Jackson in the first round (#12 pick overall) of the 2008 PBL Draft held today in Chicago, IL.

Jackson, a local product from East High School ('00) in Rochester played his college ball at Genesee Community College ('01-'03) where he averaged 18.5 ppg and 8.7 apg, before finishing his college career at Mountain State University ('04-'06). In two years at MSU, Jackson averaged 6.5 ppg and 7.7 apg.

"Brian brings two things to our franchise. One, a significant local recognition for all he's done on the Greater-Rochester basketball scene. Two, he has a court sense that, added with some of our returning players, will only make us better," says RazorSharks Head Coach Rod Baker.

In the 2nd round, the RazorSharks traded their pick to the Maryland Nighthawks for the rights to Ratdech "J.O." Kruatiwa from Thailand. J.O. played the 2008 PBL season with the Nighthawks where he saw limited action due to injury. Kruatiwa made headlines last year when he signed with the Nighthawks and became the first Thai player to play professionally in the United States.

Ratdech a 6'3' shooting guard has played for the Thailand National Team and was a member of the 2006 Asian Universidad in Vietnam championship team. He was also ranked first in three point shooting at the 2007 World Universidad in Bangkok and was the MVP in the 2005 and 2006 King's Cup.
