Rays Summer Bus Trips Announced

Princeton, WV - The Princeton Rays are proud to announce the franchise's annual summer bus trips for fans, which this year, will travel to a Pittsburgh, PA and Durham, NC.

Summer bus trips to Major League Baseball games have been a staple of offerings by the Princeton Rays for nearly since the team's inception. Such trips allow fans to travel with team executives to games featuring the teams in the upper echelons of professional baseball.

This summer's trips will feature two teams with close connections to the Princeton baseball community.

The first bus trip for fans is set for a matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies with first pitch set at 4:05 PM on Sat., July 23. The Pirates were the Major League affiliate of the Princeton franchise for three seasons beginning in 1989. The Phillies originally commissioned Minor League Baseball in Princeton in 1987 and stayed with the club for one season.

The Pirates will give away Commemorative Andrew McCutchen trading cards, presented by Topps all fans through the gate, as supplies last.

The later game in the bus trip twin-bill will take fans to a triple-A game between the Durham Bulls and the Gwinnett Braves. The bus trip will take place on Sat., Aug. 27 with a first pitch time at 6:35 PM. The Durham Bulls are the triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and include several former Princeton Rays players.

The game will be followed by a post-game fireworks show, as Durham will dawn their "Bull City Blues" uniforms, which include Durham blue pants and jersey tops.

Tickets for the trips are set at $115 per person for one trip or $110 per person when reserving a spot for both bus trips. Cost helps to cover ticket prices for each game in addition to transportation fees.

Bus trip reservations may be made immediately with bus seats and tickets being first come, first serve until 55-passenger buses are filled. Deadline to register for the Pittsburgh trip is Fri., July 8. Deadline to register for the Durham trip is Fri., August 12.
