Rays Struggle to Slow Start

The South Carolina Stingrays are still searching for their first win after starting the new campaign with a loss in Augusta on Friday night and a shoot out loss to Columbia on Saturday night.

Friday, October 21

Stingrays 2 @ Augusta 4

The Lynx scored three straight goals in the second period to win their home opener over the Rays. Brad Parsons and Jeff Legue each scored for the Stingrays as Maxime Daigneault took the loss.

Saturday, October 22

Stingrays 4 Vs Columbia 5 SO

The Rays earned a point in this game that they never led. Rookie goaltender Mike Brown took the loss between the pipes for the Stingrays.

Stingrays Ticket Sales Whiz Patrick Sullivan Wins League Wide Contest

South Carolina Stingrays Ticket Sales Manager Patrick Sullivan has won an ECHL Southeastern Region group sales contest for his work on the team's opening night.

Sullivan will receive four tickets to an Atlanta Thrashers game of his choice from the league. The third year employee will also receive hotel accommodations and spending money as an added incentive kicked in by the Stingrays organization for the win.

"All of our ticket people worked hard on our opening night groups," commented President Taylor Lee. "We were very please with the results."

Stingrays Sales Managers Chad Pennington and Jon Parkman finished fifth and sixth in the contest.

Hit the Road With the Rays

The South Carolina Stingrays and Advance Auto Parts are pleased to announce the 2005-06 Hit the Road with the Rays Contest. This season, fans will have the opportunity to travel on the team bus as the Stingrays travel to Greenville to take on the Grrrowl and to Gwinnett to face off against the Gladiators. The lucky winners will take part in the pre game skate, eat the pre game meal and stay in the official team hotel. During the game the winner will have the opportunity to get on the air as a color commentator along side the "Voice of the Rays" Darren Abbott.

Fans can register to win by clicking the Advance Auto Parts logo at www.stingrayshockey.com . Only one application will be taken and duplicate entries will be deleted. Contestants must be present to win on February 25th when the Rays play host to the Augusta Lynx.

"Advance Auto Parts and the Stingrays are very excited about this new contest," commented Stingrays VP of Sales and Marketing Chris George. "The winner of this contest will have the opportunity to see what it is like to be a South Carolina Stingray."

STINGRAYS TO GIVE AWAY CRUISE ON APRIL 1

One lucky Stingray fan in attendance at the season closer on April 1 will have the chance to win a cruise for two on Royal Caribbean cruise lines. The winner must be able to take the cruise during the month of May '06. The contest, sponsored in part by Carlson Wagonlit Travel at Northwoods Pointe, is open to everyone in attendance on April 1. Each fan may enter to win only once. However, fans that bring out a group of 10 or more to any game throughout the season will have their name in the drawing equal to the number of groups they bring out. So the more groups you book, the greater the chance you'll have to go sailing on Royal Caribbean!

Rays Change Education Day

November 1st Game Switched to January 10th

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the South Carolina Stingrays have changed the date of their first ever Education Day from November 1st to January 10th. The Stingrays will host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 10:35 AM. The following local schools have already committed.

Player and Mascot Appearance Schedule:

October 29th 9:30 AM to 10:00AM: Cool Ray will appear at the James Island County Park for the annual Stride, Ride and Walk for Muscular Dystrophy.

October 29th 3:00 to 5:00: Cool Ray will be on hand at the Goose Creek Primary School for its Family Fun Festival handing out stickers and tattoos.

Go Safe Trick or Treating With The Rays!

The South Carolina Stingrays will run a safe trick or treat program this season. Kids can sign up to win a safe trick or treat with a member of the Stingrays on Halloween night.

Fans can register to win on the concourse at a Stingrays game in October, or by emailing Steve Fraser at stevef@stingrayshockey.com. Ten lucky children will be selected to go trick or treating with a member of the Stingrays.
