Rays Send New to Florida for Future Considerations

South Carolina Stingrays News Release


NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals, have completed a trade with the Florida Everblades, acquiring future considerations in exchange for defenseman Daniel New, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Ryan Warsofsky announced Friday.

New, 27, played in 10 games for the Stingrays this season, scoring one goal and two assists.

The defenseman signed with South Carolina on Oct. 22 at the start of the 2016-17 season. He previously played for the Everblades for five games during the 2015-16 season before appearing with the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum ice on Saturday when they battle the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m.
