Rays Expand Broadcasting

Princeton WhistlePigs News Release

The Princeton Rays, in cooperation with L&P Broadcasting, will air both home and road games for the entirety of the 2016 season on 103.3 WAEY FM.

"The Rays are proud to expand our on-air presence and allow everyone unable to make it to the ballpark the opportunity to tune in and listen to the action," said Rays General Manager Nick Carey.

Princeton home action will be broadcast by first-year Rays broadcaster Wes McKinney, who is currently a member of the Sports Information Department at Concord University in Athens, WV. During the fall and winter he mans the microphone to broadcast Princeton Senior High School football and basketball. During Spring 2015 he spent time in the booth broadcasting Richlands High School baseball.

"I'm so happy to start this journey and continue to provide the city of Princeton with great sports moments," explained McKinney.

Veteran broadcaster Kyle Cooper will continue to make the calls of the Rays' road games. Cooper once again brings his experiences with club from the past several seasons in addition to his unique style of storytelling to the air to entertain and inform avid Princeton listeners.

"It's a large part of building our fan culture to have a viable way for fans to experience the game even when they can't be at the ballpark," said Carey, "Not to mention we have two experience broadcasters with great on-air personalities."

Rays home and road game broadcasts will also be available online through the team's official website, princetonrays.net.

The Princeton Rays have been the proud Appalachian League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays since 1997. For information email princetonrays@frontier.com or call (304)-487-2000.
