STOCKTON, Calif. - It took the Visalia Rawhide seven games, but they finally came up with their first win of the second half on Wednesday night at Banner Island Ballpark. The Stockton Ports offense ran into a pair of solo home runs, but it wasn't enough as Visalia homered three times, sending Stockton to a 6-2 loss and salvaging the final game of the three-game series.

Visalia scored the game's first run in the top of the first. With two outs and the bases empty, David Nick singled and Jon Griffin drove him home with a triple to right. Stockton countered in the bottom of the first with a leadoff home run by Bobby Crocker to knot the game at 1-1.

Ports starter Shaeffer Hall (1-3) gave up a solo home run to Gerson Montilla with two away in the third inning to give Visalia a lead they'd never relinquish. The Rawhide built on their lead in the fourth. With a runner at third and two outs, Raul Navarro hit an RBI single to right and Steven Rodriguez followed with a two-run homer to right that ballooned the Visalia lead to 5-1.

Hall came out to stat the fifth inning and gave up a leadoff homer to Montilla, his second of the game, to make it a 6-1 Rawhide lead, at which point hall was lifted from the game. Hall suffered the loss, going four-plus innings and allowing six runs on eight hits while striking out two.

Blake Hassebrock took over for Hall in the fifth and tossed three scoreless inning, retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced and allowing only one hit.

Stockton plated their final run in the fifth. With one out and the bases empty, Max Muncy hit his 20th home run of the season, a solo blast to right that brought the Ports to within four runs at 6-2. After allowing an ensuing double to B.A. Vollmuth, Rawhide starter Conrad Flynn (5-3) set down the final two batters of the fifth to complete his outing.

Flynn picked up the win, going five innings and allowing two runs on seven hit while striking out five.

Beginning with the final two outs of the fifth, Flynn and the Visalia bullpen combined to retire the final 14 Ports batters of the night. Diogenes Rosario, Seth Simmons and R.J. Hively combined on four perfect innings. Going back to Monday night's ballgame, Visalia's bullpen retired 25 batters in a row to end the series.

Tucker Healy and Jonathan Joseph each pitched a scoreless frame down the stretch for Stockton.

After going 3-4 on their seven-game homestand, the Ports hit the road for seven games beginning with a four-game set in San Jose with the Giants. Tanner Peters (7-4, 4.28 ERA) makes the start for Stockton, opposed by San Jose right-hander Kyle Crick (0-1, 0.66 ERA). First pitch is set for 7 p.m. PDT.
