Rawhide Fritter Away Lead, Lose Game 3

Visalia Rawhide News Release
SAN JOSE--After giving themselves a great chance to sweep the series and book themselves a place in the League Finals, the Rawhide let it get away, losing Game 3 5-4, and allowing the Giants to force a Game 4 tomorrow night.
It started well for Visalia, as Domingo Leyba crunched a 2-run homer to right field, giving the 'Hide a 2-0 lead. They added 2 more in the 3rd, on a double by Breland Almadova, a single by Kevin Medrano, and a walk to Jamie Westbrook, and sacrifice flies by Daniel Palka and Gerson Montilla. It was 4-0 Rawhide, and they kept that lead in the 5th inning.
But in the bottom of the 5th, the Giants rallied to tie the game; they sent 9 to the plate and scored 4 times on 4 hits, a walk, 3 wild pitches, and a passed ball. It was 4-4.
The Rawhide offense completely disappeared after the 3rd inning; 21 of their last 22 batters were retired by Giants pitching.
And in the bottom of the 9th, the Giants found the winner, as the 'Hide hit the Self-Destruct button. Nick Sarianides walked Christian Arroyo, made an errant throw to 1st after being run into by his 1st baseman (Palka), and hit Brian Ragira with a changeup to load the bases. Aramis Garcia then bounced one through the left side of the drawn-in infield, as 3rd baseman Kevin Medrano lunged to his left but had it go off his glove.
The Rawhide will hope to rebound in Game 4 on Tuesday night; first pitch will be at 7:00. You can hear it live right here on RawhideBaseball.com.
