Dallas Rattlers News Release

FRISCO, TX - The Dallas Rattlers have traded a conditional draft pick to the Ohio Machine in exchange for attackman Nate Lewnes. The Rattlers also traded midfielder Sean O'Brien to the Boston Cannons for a conditional draft pick. Both draft picks involved in the trades are conditional that each player must sign with their respective team for the upcoming season.

Lewnes, a 2016 graduate of University of Maryland Baltimore County, entered Major League Lacrosse with the Chesapeake Bayhawks as the last pick in the 2017 Supplemental Draft but has gone on to carve out an impressive professional career. Lewnes has compiled 19 goals and three assists in 10 career games with the Bayhawks.

The 5-9 attackman started the 2018 season with the Bayhawks and was later claimed by the Atlanta Blaze from Chesapeake's practice squad. Lewnes did not appear in a game for the Blaze and was claimed from their practice roster by the Ohio Machine.

The news comes less than a month after Major League Lacrosse announced major changes that include a 51% increase in salary cap, an expanded 16 game season, and an additional game day active roster spot.
