WR Washington was IFL Offensive Player of the Year

LB Shirk spent time with the Indianapolis Colts

Phoenix, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announced today that they have signed offensive lineman Keyon Haughton, linebacker Justin Shirk, wide receiver Demarius Washington, and defensive lineman Sean Watson for their inaugural season in the Indoor Football League (IFL).

Haughton (6-3, 310, Kansas) attended Kansas for the final two years of his college career, starting for the Jayhawks at center. Prior to transferring to Kansas, he attended Georgia Military College where he anchored the Bulldogs' offensive line that led the NJCAA's in rushing at 289.2 yards per game his sophomore season.

The Baltimore, Maryland native attended W.E.B. DuBois High School where he was a multisport athlete. He played on both the offensive and defensive lines in football, and also lettered in Lacrosse and basketball. Haughton received scholar-athlete honors from the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Shirk (6-0, 245, Bloomsburg) signed with the National Football League's (NFL) Indianapolis Colts in 2015, and spent all of training camp with the team.

The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native attended Bloomsburg University where he earned two All-American honors in his senior season after recording an astounding 120 tackles, 21.5 of them for a loss, 11 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pick. He was also named to the All-PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference) team all four years (second team his freshman and sophomore seasons; first team his junior and senior seasons).

Washington (6-4, 210, Tyler) is entering his second season in the IFL, after being named the Offensive player of the year in 2016 and holds the single season receiving yards record with 1,223 yards, playing for the Colorado Crush. He was also given first team All-IFL honors.

The Irving, Texas native attended Tyler Junior College where he played free safety. He was named to the first team all-SJCC (Southwest Junior College Conference) after leading his team in both tackles and interceptions.

Washington's older brother is Daryl Washington, the former Arizona Cardinals linebacker. Demarius and his family currently live in Yuma, Ariz.

Watson (6-3, 285, Jacksonville State) played for the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2016 prior to joining the Rattlers.

Watson attended Jacksonville State University, where he had 47 tackles, 10 for a loss, and 2.5 sacks, as both a defensive tackle and a defensive end.

The Panama City, Florida native attended Rutherford High School where he earned all-state second-team honors by SunStateFootball.com, and was a first-team All-District 2 and first-team All-Bay County. Watson also played basketball and threw discus for the track and field team.
