Rattlers Announce 2016 Postseason Dates

Phoenix, Ariz. - The five-time world champion Arizona Rattlers will host the first two rounds of the Arena Football League playoffs. The Rattlers won the National Conference championship with their 69-67 win over the Jacksonville Sharks on Saturday night. This is the team's sixth straight conference/division title.

The Arena Football League (AFL) put in place new rules this season which gives the top two seeds in the 2016 AFL postseason to each conference champion. As the National Conference champion, the Arizona Rattlers will be no lower than the number two seed. The American Conference champion is still up for grabs between the Philadelphia Soul and the Orlando Predators.

The first playoff game will be on Saturday August 6th at 7 p.m. PDT at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. The Rattlers will host either the 7th or 8th seed which will be either the Portland Steel or Tampa Bay Storm. Single game playoff tickets will be on sale this Friday, July 15th.

The second round playoff game will be on Saturday August 13th at 6:30 p.m. PDT, also at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. Tickets for this game will go on sale immediately following a Rattlers' first round win.

The Rattlers currently clinched the number two seed and have the chance to earn the top seed in the league. They can do so by beating Orlando by more than 18 points and beating Cleveland in the final game of the regular season. If the Rattlers win out but do not beat Orlando by more than 18, they can still earn the number one seed if Philadelphia beats Orlando in the final game of the regular season.
