NEW YORK - New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has assigned Filip Chytil to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) and has released Andrew Desjardins from his Professional Tryout (PTO).
Chytil, 18, has skated in two games with the Rangers this season. He made his NHL/Rangers debut on Oct. 5 vs. Colorado, becoming the fourth-youngest player to appear in a game with the Blueshirts in franchise history.
Desjardins skated in three preseason games with the Rangers this year.
