Rampage Sign Defenseman Mike Marcou

SAN ANTONIO (February 7, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage general manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defenseman Mike Marcou to a professional tryout contract from the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.

Marcou, 23, has played in 47 games for the Road Warriors this season, recording six goals and 16 assists from the blueline. He's also posted a plus-19 rating in Greenville this year. Last season, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound blueliner made his American Hockey League debut, playing two games for the Oklahoma City Barons after wrapping up his senior year at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. While at UMass-Amherst, Marcou played a total of 119 games in four years and tallied 17 goals and 26 assists. Prior to college hockey, Marcou played two seasons for the Waterloo Black Hawks (2006-08) of the United States Hockey League, recording three goals and 13 assists in 92 games.

The Rampage will continue their Rodeo Road Trip this weekend when they will travel to Charlotte for a pair of games against the Checkers. Saturday's puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m., while Sunday's game will kick off at 2:00 p.m.

The Silver and Black will return to AT&T Center on Saturday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. to host their annual Military Appreciation Night.
