San Antonio surrendered the lead nearly seven minutes later when Chris Mueller punished the Rampage with a shorthanded goal, giving the Roadrunners a 3-2 lead heading into the first intermission.
After a scoreless second period, Tucson added a fourth goal 13:53 in the third stanza when Conor Garland went top shelf on Rampage netminder Spencer Martin. The Roadrunners added insurance at the 17:58 mark when Laurent Dauphin secured the victory with a empty-net goal.
