RailHawks, CASL Team Up For Haiti Relief

January 27, 2010 - North American Soccer League (NASL) - North Carolina FC News Release

CARY, N.C. - The Carolina RailHawks and the Capital Area Soccer League announced Wednesday they will hold a soccer clinic to benefit the Haiti relief effort on Feb. 6 at WakeMed Soccer Park.

The clinic will run from 2-4 p.m. and be conducted by CASL coaches and RailHawks players and coaches. It is designed for players of all skill levels. The clinic is open to the public, and donations will be accepted on site. A $10 minimum donation is suggested. All proceeds from the clinic will benefit the relief effort in Haiti, as the country continues to recover from this month's devastating earthquake.

"We feel it is important for the soccer community to come together and give back," said RailHawks coach Martin Rennie. "CASL is a great partner doing great things for the community and we are only happy to help as much as we can."

Registration for the clinic will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 6. Anyone interested in participating should contact the Carolina RailHawks front office at 919-859-5425.

This clinic is a continuation of the RailHawks and CASL working together to help Haiti. Last week, the RailHawks' Spread Your Wings Foundation donated $25,000 to CASL's fundraising drive.

"I think it's great the RailHawks will offer this clinic to kids and that all the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross through CASL's collection process," said CASL CEO Charlie Slagle. "I recommend that everyone take advantage if at all possible."
