Alain Quijano will return for his second season as Pitching Coach and will be joined by new staff members, Hitting Coach Mike Goss, First Base Coach Jeremy Jakubowski and Bullpen Coach Chris Joyce.

Former RailCats lefty Alain Quijano is no stranger to the "RailCat Way" having had three playing stints for the RailCats in ,2009, 2011 and once again with the American Association Champions of 2013. Mike Goss takes over as Hitting Coach and comes to the lake shore after serving as manager of the Glacier Grizzlies of the Mount Rainer Professional Baseball League in 2015. While new to the American Association, Goss is no stranger to independent baseball. The former minor league outfielder played eight seasons of "indy ball" in five different leagues as a player and brings 14 years overall experience as a player and coach to the RailCats dugout in 2016. Goss was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 11th round of the 2002 June Draft and played two years in the Red Sox organization and played one season for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

First Base Coach Jeremy Jakubowski, a Rossford, Ohio native, spent the last off season as an assistant baseball coach for the Ecclesia College Royals in Springdale, Arkansas. Jakubowski served as a graduate assistant coach at William Penn University in Oskloosa, Iowa during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. During his two year tenure at William Penn University, Jakubowski helped guide the Statesmen to a 49-43 record, qualifying for the post-season both years.

Rounding out the staff is California native Chris Joyce. Joyce served as an assistant with the Lakeland College baseball team working on the same staff as former RailCats bullpen coach and current pitching coach for the Florence Freedom Sean Repay. Joyce pitched professionally in the Cincinnati Reds organization after being drafted in the 19th round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He played at the rookie and high A levels in the minor leagues in 2011-12 as a left-handed pitcher. In 2012 he appeared in 31 games for the Bakersfield Blaze in the high A California League. For his career in the Reds organization Joyce was 7-4 with a 5.85 ERA in 64.2 innings with four different clubs.

The RailCats also will welcome back for a second year Athletic Trainer and Highland native Jake Meyer and Clubhouse Manager James "Twin" Johnson. Johnson has been with the club since year one and will enter his 15th year of service with the RailCats in 2016.
