Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Red Deer, AB - The Prince Albert Raiders (25-25-9-2) earned a 3-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels (21-28-10-3) on Friday night at the ENMAX Centrium.

Ian Scott made 29 saves and the Raiders killed off seven of eight penalties on the evening en route to their third win against the Rebels this season.

Like Wednesday, the Raiders got out to a fast start. Kody McDonald buried a pass from Parker Kelly 14 seconds into the game to put the Raiders up 1-0. Late in the period, Jordy Stallard made it 2-0. He snapped the rebound from Zack Hayes' point shot past Ethan Anders.

In the second, Red Deer got on the board when Alex Morozoff cut in from the wing and beat Scott. The Rebels tied it with 2:22 to play in the period. A shot from the point ricocheted off of Josh Tarzwell and past Scott to level the score at 2-2.

The Raiders regained the lead before the end of the period. Brett Leason worked into the slot and beat Anders to make it a 3-2 game with 44 seconds to play in the period.

Scott and the Raiders' penalty killers fended off the Rebels' attack in the third. The Raiders goaltender stopped all 14 shots in the period. The PK units did their part by killing off four consecutive penalties in the first half of the period, including a full two minutes of five-on-three play.

Scott's performance earned him the game's first star and, more importantly, his 17th win of the season. Anders stopped 20 shots in the loss.

The Raiders close out their Central Division road trip on Saturday night in Edmonton against the Oil Kings (18-34-5-2) at Rogers Place. Game time is 8 p.m. CST. The next Raiders' home game is on Tuesday night against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Tickets are available at raiderhockey.com, the Raider Office, or by calling 306-764-5348.
